About The Holocaust, Genocide & Human Rights Education Center @ Brookdale CC
A non-profit, volunteer organization founded in 1979, the Holocaust, Genocide & Human Rights Education Center at Brookdale Community College (HGHREC), in Lincroft, New Jersey, is an educational resource center. Its mission is to be a resource for: education about historical issues of the Holocaust and genocide; elimination of racism, antisemitism and all forms of prejudice that damage our society; and development of creative programs and activities regarding these crucial human issues. A recognized leader in the field of Holocaust education worldwide, it is the first Holocaust Studies Center in the State of New Jersey.
HGHREC addresses human rights and civil rights issues worldwide. Its programs have addressed Armenia, America, Darfur, Democratic Republic of Congo, the Balkans, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Northern Ireland, the Middle East and East Timor.

To Tomorrow's Children
In 2004, HGHREC began To Tomorrow’s Children, a project to preserve the legacy of Holocaust survivors for tomorrow’s children. This multi-phase project is based on the stories of the survivors who work with HGHREC. The project includes
- the book To Tomorrow’s Children featuring the words and photographs of twenty-nine survivors.
- a traveling exhibit entitled Survival of the Human Spirit: Triumph over Adversity.
- a film, Soulsaving: Common Threads of Kindness.
- The Exhibit: A Journey to Life, teaches the lessons of the Holocaust through the life experiences of local Holocaust survivors, and fosters awareness and activism to address genocide and human rights abuses today.
- the book, A Tribute to Holocaust Survivors in Our Community, shares the photographs of 141 Holocaust survivors, narratives of their Holocaust experiences and personal statements.
